Defense technology company Hadrian secured $1.37 billion in new funding, the company announced on August 6, 2026. The investment values the automated manufacturing startup at $7.87 billion.

The round drew a broad group of backers, led by WCM Investment Management, Washington Harbour Partners, Valor Equity Partners, 137 Ventures, and Baillie Gifford. Other participants included 1789 Capital, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, funds managed by Apollo and T. Rowe Price, along with CapitalG, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, Lux Capital, and Altimeter.

Hadrian’s approach sets it apart in the defense sector: rather than developing AI-driven weaponry, the company focuses on building highly automated factories to mass-produce parts for existing military vehicles. This manufacturing capability addresses persistent supply chain bottlenecks for the Pentagon.

The new capital brings Hadrian’s total raised to approximately $2 billion, according to Pitchbook estimates. About a year earlier, Founders Fund and Lux Capital led a $260 million Series C round for the company.

Hadrian has been expanding its physical footprint. In March, it opened a facility in Alabama dedicated to producing submarine components, marking its fourth site. The company said that project was structured as a public-private partnership valued at $2.4 billion.

The latest funding is expected to accelerate Hadrian’s factory build-out and further scale its automated production lines for defense contractors.
