Adobe plugin brings over 70 tools including Photoshop to ChatGPT
Adobe launched a new plugin on August 6, 2026 that integrates more than 70 of its creative tools directly into OpenAI's ChatGPT. The extension brings applications such as Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat, Lightroom, Illustrator and InDesign into the chatbot environment.
ChatGPT users worldwide can add the plugin through the settings menu and invoke it by typing @Adobe in the prompt bar. According to Adobe, the integration works best inside OpenAI's Codex coding app and the recently released Work suite. While a Creative Cloud login is not required, signing in enables saving work across sessions, accessing cloud files and using Adobe Firefly generative models.
The company envisions the plugin being used for tasks like photo editing, marketing video creation and PDF generation. Forest Key, vice president of Adobe Firefly and agentic AI, stated that the plugin is not a replacement for Adobe's flagship professional apps, which provide deeper precision and creative control when needed.
This release follows Adobe's earlier integration of Photoshop, Acrobat and Adobe Express into ChatGPT at the end of last year, using OpenAI's Apps SDK. The new plugin significantly expands the range of Adobe tools available within the chatbot, marking a continued enthusiastic embrace of generative AI.
Adobe says the plugin is available starting today worldwide, allowing users to access its pro-grade tools wherever they work.
