On August 5, 2026, Uber Technologies forecast weaker-than-expected bookings and earnings for the third quarter, as it reported second-quarter profit in line with analyst estimates.

Uber shares have fallen 12% in 2026 through the close on August 4, contrasting with a 14% gain for the Nasdaq over the same period.

The company projected gross bookings of $59.25 billion at the midpoint for the third quarter, below the $59.33 billion average estimate from StreetAccount. Adjusted earnings per share are expected to be between 84 and 88 cents, missing the 89-cent consensus compiled by LSEG.

Second-quarter revenue rose 12% to $12.65 billion from a year earlier. Net income surged to $2.39 billion, or $1.17 per share, from $1.35 billion, or 63 cents per share. Total bookings of $58 billion exceeded the $57.23 billion StreetAccount forecast.

Mobility revenue reached $7.36 billion, with gross bookings up 22% to $28.99 billion. Delivery revenue hit $5.25 billion, and bookings climbed 26% to $27.46 billion.

Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi said the World Cup boosted ride-hail demand during the quarter, with more than 8 million tourists taking rides in host cities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

In July 2026, Uber announced a $14.8 billion deal to acquire Germany’s Delivery Hero, deepening its push into food and grocery deliveries.

Uber also said it plans to commit over $10 billion in coming years to bring autonomous vehicles to market at scale. Khosrowshahi said the company is building “one of the most valuable positions in the AV ecosystem” as the industry shifts to commercialization. However, early robotaxi partner Waymo is ending an exclusive agreement in Atlanta and Austin, Texas, by early 2028.
