Superblocks partners with AWS to bring vibe coding to private clouds
Superblocks, a vibe-coding startup, has entered a multi-year joint marketing agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS), allowing its tool to be embedded within the private clouds of AWS customers. The deal was announced on August 3, 2026. Under the agreement, enterprises using AWS can subscribe to Superblocks and offer vibe coding to their business users, with apps running entirely within the company's private cloud. These apps will spin up Amazon Aurora databases internally, rather than relying on external databases like Supabase, and will integrate with Amazon Bedrock, AWS's AI app development platform. According to Superblocks co-founder and CEO Brad Menezes, this ensures that data never leaves the private cloud and remains secure with all auditing, encryption, and network controls in place. AWS will also help sell Superblocks to enterprises through its Marketplace, with an AWS spokesperson stating, "We support partners where we see strong customer demand and alignment with how customers want to build." The move is significant because it reflects a broader trend where hyperscaler cloud providers are encouraging enterprises to separate their AI models from other scaffolding and manage everything on their clouds. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has recently been advocating for using multiple models to reduce costs and avoid lock-in, and warning that AI labs may not be trustworthy for agent orchestration. Menezes notes that enterprises have already shifted toward adopting multiple models, including Chinese open-weight options, and that a multi-model strategy is now a must-have for CIOs. He predicts that any executive betting on a single model provider will be fired. Superblocks, which has 50 employees and raised $60 million in a Series A round announced in May 2025 from investors including Spark Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, and Greenoaks, stands to benefit from this trend. AWS currently lacks its own vibe-coding agent for business users, making this partnership a strategic boost for the startup. The agreement highlights how cloud providers are bringing vibe coding into secure, private clouds, marking a potential second wave after AI coding agents for developers.
