Ferrari sold just under 500 units of its polarizing Luce electric vehicle, designed by Jony Ive, in July 2026, hitting its annual sales target only two months after a troubled launch, the Financial Times reported on July 29.

Strong demand from China, where electric vehicle sales by brands such as Geely, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr have surged, drove the milestone, the newspaper said.

The automaker sought to attract a new generation of wealthy buyers in China and tech hubs like Silicon Valley, according to the FT. Sources told the publication that U.S. tech entrepreneurs gave positive feedback on the €550,000 model.

Ferrari plans to sell about 2,500 Luce cars by 2030, averaging roughly 600 per year and accounting for about 5 percent of annual sales, the FT said, and in August 2026 it will auction the first production model with an expected price above $1.1 million.
