Disney gives TikTok creators official Marvel, Star Wars access
The Walt Disney Company is partnering with TikTok to bring fan-created videos using its characters to the Disney Plus streaming service, the company announced on August 5, 2026.
TikTok creators will gain official access to assets from hundreds of Disney movies and TV shows, including titles from Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
A pilot program will launch in the United States in the coming months, with plans to expand internationally later.
Videos from participating creators will appear on both TikTok and Disney Plus, within the Verts feed that Disney Plus introduced earlier in 2026.
Creators who opt in will receive increased visibility, exclusive event access and career development opportunities.
The partnership does not explicitly bar the use of artificial intelligence tools, and Disney has not yet clarified its policy on AI-generated submissions.
Disney’s move deepens its push into short-form creator content. The company previously explored a similar deal with OpenAI’s Sora video generator, which would have trained on Disney intellectual property and made videos for the platform, but that project did not materialize.
