Snap will showcase its standalone augmented reality glasses, Specs, at a public event in Los Angeles on September 16, 2026, at 7 p.m. ET. The event will be livestreamed and marks the first in-depth look at the device.

CEO Evan Spiegel will demonstrate how Specs integrate AI assistance, work tools, entertainment, and shared experiences into users’ surroundings, helping people create, connect, learn, and get things done while staying present.

The glasses cost $2,195. Snap opened pre-orders in June 2026. Shipments are expected in the U.S., U.K., and France in fall 2026, with precise timing likely to be announced at the event.

Specs are available in two sizes: 47 mm and a wider 52 mm. The battery supports up to four hours of mixed use, according to Snap. The device includes a built-in browser and AI assistance through partnerships with OpenAI and Google, along with hundreds of AR Lenses, including games.

Two Qualcomm Snapdragon processors sit in the glasses’ thick arms; one handles computer vision and the other manages AR apps, enabling standalone functionality.

The event underscores Snap’s push into the consumer AR market with a major hardware launch.
