Databricks closes $5B round at $190B valuation
Databricks closed a $5 billion funding round on August 13, 2026, reaching a $190 billion valuation. The data analytics and AI company said its revenue run rate surpassed $7 billion, with year-over-year growth of more than 80% in its second quarter.
Coatue, Blackstone, MGX, T. Rowe Price, and Sixth Street Growth led the round. The funding will support enterprise AI capabilities, including the Unity AI Gateway governance tool and the Genie agentic tool.
The raise comes six months after Databricks secured $5 billion in funding and $2 billion in new debt capacity at a $134 billion valuation. It is part of a growing group of private firms delaying IPOs as private market funding remains abundant.
Founded in 2013, Databricks helps companies build AI agents and applications using proprietary data. It ranked No. 3 on CNBC's 2026 Disruptor 50 list and has already exceeded public market rival Snowflake in market value. Its Lakebase database launch, which competes with Oracle and SAP, has surpassed a $100 million revenue run rate, while the Lakehouse data warehousing tool has passed a $1.5 billion run rate. In March 2026, Databricks entered cybersecurity with its Lakewatch software.
Databricks CEO Ali Ghodsi is scheduled to discuss the funding and revenue milestones on CNBC at 10:45 a.m. ET on August 13, 2026. The announcement follows confidential IPO filings by frontier model makers Anthropic and OpenAI, signaling a potentially active year for public offerings even as shares of newly public companies like SpaceX have been volatile since their debuts.
