Samsung unveiled its latest Galaxy foldable phones and smartwatches at its Unpacked 2026 event, introducing slimmer designs and larger screens alongside higher price tags. The new devices include the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldables, as well as the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, marking the company's continued push into premium mobile technology.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a wider cover display and a thinner body compared to its predecessor, while the Galaxy Z Flip 6 offers improved durability and a larger external screen. The Galaxy Watch 7 comes in two sizes with enhanced health tracking, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra is a rugged model designed for outdoor enthusiasts. These products target consumers seeking cutting-edge design and functionality, though the increased prices may limit adoption among budget-conscious buyers.

Pricing for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 starts at $1,899, up $100 from the previous model, while the Galaxy Z Flip 6 begins at $1,099, a $50 increase. The Galaxy Watch 7 starts at $349, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra is priced at $649. Pre-orders begin today, with general availability starting on July 24. The higher costs reflect Samsung's investment in thinner builds and larger displays, but could affect sales in a competitive market.

Samsung introduced the first Galaxy Fold in 2019, and the foldable category has since grown with each iteration. The company also launched the Galaxy Watch series in 2018, expanding into health-focused wearables. The new devices aim to build on that legacy by addressing previous complaints about bulkiness and battery life, though early reviews note that the price increases may test consumer loyalty.

Analysts expect the new foldables to face stiff competition from rivals like Google's Pixel Fold and Motorola's Razr series, while the watches compete with Apple's Watch Series 9. Samsung's next steps include marketing the devices' enhanced multitasking features and health sensors to justify the premium pricing. The company also hinted at future software updates to optimize the foldable experience, though no specific dates were given.
