Mega Millions $800M jackpot winning numbers drawn
A single ticket sold in California claimed the $800 million Mega Millions jackpot on 28 July 2026.
Winning numbers were drawn at 11 p.m. Eastern Time and results appeared on state lottery websites.
The cash option was not immediately disclosed, but jackpots of this size typically offer more than half the advertised sum.
Lottery officials said the prize grew through months of rollovers since the last win.
The California Lottery confirmed the winning ticket was sold in the state, but the store location was not immediately released.
Mega Millions odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.
The 28 July drawing also produced lower-tier winners across multiple states, though no other ticket matched all five white balls and the gold Mega Ball.
At $800 million, the amount ranks among the top 10 U.S. lottery jackpots, far below the record $1.602 billion Mega Millions won in August 2023.
The winner has up to one year from the draw date to claim the prize, depending on state rules.
Officials recommend signing the ticket, consulting a financial adviser, and contacting the lottery.
With the jackpot claimed, the next Mega Millions drawing resets to its starting value of $20 million.
