Travis Kelce calls Taylor Swift wedding 'best night of my life'
Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, publicly described his early July wedding to pop star Taylor Swift as "the best night of my life" in his first official comments on the event, made during a briefing on August 13, 2026. The couple, both 36, held two days of celebrations at Madison Square Garden in New York on July 2 and 3.
Kelce told reporters he appreciated everyone who attended and celebrated with them, saying the night was "crazy" and full of celebration. He added that it was cool to live out his childhood dream of being in that venue, which he called the mecca of all sports venues, and to get married there.
The wedding remains largely secret, with no images released. It was confirmed only by a statement from Swift's spokeswoman and a message on the venue's giant screens. According to reports, the ceremony was officiated by comedian-actor Adam Sandler, the couple wore outfits by Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior, and Swift wore Louboutin shoes.
About 1,000 people attended, including many celebrities, and nearby streets were blocked off with a heavy police presence. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the newlyweds paid the city $160,000 to cover resulting costs. Journalist George Stephanopoulos described the event as "so personal and so intimate" despite the venue's size.
Adam Aron, head of the AMC cinema chain, posted and then deleted a message on X describing the couple's vows as "long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing." The couple made their relationship public two years ago and got engaged in August 2025.
Kelce's comments mark the first time he has spoken publicly about the wedding since it took place, offering a rare glimpse into an event that has been kept tightly under wraps.
