PJM to cut data center power to avert blackouts

PJM Interconnection, the largest grid operator in the United States, will temporarily cut power to large data centers starting 28 July 2026 to prevent widespread blackouts.
The policy targets facilities that consume massive amounts of electricity and could destabilize the grid during peak demand or emergencies.
