Meta has announced that its Horizon+ subscription service will now include a starter edition of Xbox Game Pass at no additional cost. The move is aimed at attracting more users to Meta's virtual reality ecosystem by adding gaming value beyond the Quest platform.

Existing and new Horizon+ subscribers will receive access to the Xbox Game Pass starter edition, which offers a curated selection of games for PC and console. This affects Meta Quest headset owners who subscribe to Horizon+, as well as potential new subscribers considering the service.

The integration matters because it bridges Meta's VR world with Microsoft's broader gaming library, potentially making Horizon+ more competitive against other subscription services. It also gives Xbox Game Pass a new distribution channel among VR users.

Meta did not specify the exact date when the bundle takes effect, but the company confirmed it is available now for Horizon+ members. The starter edition includes a limited catalog compared to the full Game Pass Ultimate, but it adds value without raising the Horizon+ subscription price.

This partnership follows Meta's broader strategy to expand its VR offerings through collaborations. Earlier this year, Meta introduced other perks for Horizon+ subscribers, such as exclusive in-game items and discounts on Quest titles.

Looking ahead, Meta may continue to add more third-party services to Horizon+ to retain subscribers. The company has not announced whether the Xbox Game Pass starter edition will be a permanent addition or a limited-time promotion.
