AstraZeneca, a British pharmaceutical giant, and its U.S. rival Bristol Myers Squibb are discussing a merger that would value the combined company at roughly $400 billion, the Financial Times reported on August 2, 2026.

The talks have been ongoing for several months, the FT said, citing people familiar with the matter. It remains unclear whether a deal will materialize.

A transaction would rank among the largest in corporate history. Neither company immediately responded to requests for comment.
