Apple plans to introduce a new consumer laptop called the MacBook Neo with annual upgrades and more colour options, part of a wider Mac overhaul in 2026 and 2027, according to reports published on 27 July 2026.

The overhaul, detailed by Bloomberg and other outlets, aims to refresh nearly every Mac model, including MacBooks and iMacs, to meet rising demand for artificial intelligence capabilities.

The MacBook Neo will get more RAM and frequent updates, Forbes and Mashable reported, targeting users who want the latest AI features. No specific release dates were disclosed, but the roadmap points to a steady stream of launches across the two years.

Apple's push is driven by the need to integrate advanced AI features, positioning its computers to compete with AI-capable PCs. Next-generation processors designed for AI workloads are expected, MacRumors and 9to5Mac said.

The company has not officially confirmed the plans, but the reports suggest an accelerated development timeline. The first new Macs may be announced later in 2026.
