SpaceX launches V3 Starlink satellites but suffers booster failure
SpaceX launched a new version of its Starlink satellites, designated V3, but the mission was marred by a booster failure during landing. The company successfully deployed 21 V3 satellites into orbit, but the first-stage booster failed to reignite its engines properly, resulting in a loss of the booster. This marks the second consecutive booster failure for SpaceX, following a similar incident on a previous Starlink mission. The V3 satellites are a significant upgrade, offering increased bandwidth and capacity for the Starlink network, which serves millions of users worldwide. The booster failure does not affect the satellites already in orbit, but it raises questions about the reliability of SpaceX's reusable rocket technology. The company is expected to investigate the engine reignition issue before its next launch. No injuries or property damage were reported from the booster failure.
