KIT hydrogen turbine runs record 303 seconds without compressor

Researchers at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) operated a compressorless hydrogen gas turbine for a record 303 seconds on August 4, 2026. The test surpassed NASA's previous record of 250 seconds and marks the first time such a turbine has generated electricity without a mechanical compressor.
